EMBODYING HORROR is a six-week, movement-based course that will equip actors with the physical tools to portray a wide range of unsettling, macabre, and downright terrifying characters found in the horror genre. Drawing inspiration from films such as Nosferatu, Suspiria, Possession, Hereditary, and The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, as well as visual artists like Francisco Goya and the German Expressionists, this psycho-somatic class explores the physicality of creatures, hauntings, and the supernatural. In addition to movement work, this course will incorporate practical acting and devising applications to bring these characters to life.
